Located in the middle of a canyon, surrounded by fox tails, the Puritama Hot Springs, which means Water (Puri) and Hot (tama), have a temperature between 28 ° and 31 ° celcius, suitable for the whole family.
Its water has a significant concentration of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, sodium and boron, all revitalizing elements for the body and mind.

The Reserve’s thermal baths sector is open from Monday to Sunday with the following schedule:

  • AM schedule: Admission from 9:30 AM, and departure from the facilities at 1:30 PM.
  • PM schedule: Admission from 2:30 PM, and departure from the facilities at 6:00 PM.

You will be asked to leave the pools 20 to 15 minutes before the departure time scheduled, so you can be outside the facilities at the closing time.

Some of the pools might be reserved (the total capacity of the thermal baths decreases if some pools are closed).

In order to have a good coexistence, the hot springs have certain rules that must be fully complied with. Any breach of these may mean expulsion from the venue or a fine.

  • Fires are not allowed.
  • No pets allowed.
  • Entry or consumption of alcohol is not allowed.
  • Smoking is not allowed.
  • You can eat only in the picnic area.
  • Glass is not allowed

We have a cafeteria next to the picnic area. Payment is only accepted through cards. You will also find our Field Guide to the Flora and Fauna of the Reserve, as well as bottles featuring the Andean Cat design.

The entrance to the hot springs includes:

  • Access to the thermal pools.
  • Use of lockers* and restrooms.
  • Use of the parking lot (350 meters from the pools and sanitary facilities).

Does not include:

  • Transportation services.
  • Food and/or beverages.

 

*Each visitor must bring their own padlock. The hot springs are not responsible for any damages or thefts.

Date changes:

You can make changes to the date of your reservation without penalty up to 8 days before the visit. For other periods, the following applies:

  • 8 or more days before the check-in date: No penalty
  • 7 to 4 days before the check-in date: 50% penalty
  • 3 to 0 days before the check-in date: non-exchangeable.

Cancellation of the visit:

To cancel a visit, you can do so up to 8 days before the date without penalty*. If you cancel after that period, the following conditions apply:

  • 8 or more days before the check-in date: No penalty
  • Cancellation 7 to 4 days before the check-in date: 50% penalty
  • Cancellation 3 to 0 days before the check-in date: non-refundable.

** Refunds may take up to 30 business days.
**Both returns and exchanges must be made in advance of the ticket’s purchase date.

How to get there

The Puritama Hot Springs are 28 kilometers north of San Pedro de Atacama via Route B-245. There is no public transport to the hot springs, meaning you will have to get there in a private vehicle if you do not take a tour. We do not offer transportation services.
